Operations Management

Our organizational structure has developed over the years as a response to customer satisfaction. Our experience Operations Management group focuses on the manufacturing effort with Contracts Management, Quality Control, Material Control, Purchasing and Manufacturing Engineering supporting that focus. This allows every department to contribute and be accountable for shipping a quality product on time and at the most efficient price.

Contracts Pricing/Administration

Response to RFQs in a timely manner is usually one of the customer’s greatest needs. Being able to take information from a customer and formulate a concise bid that covers all bases is a very difficult process. Years of experience working with some of the largest hi-tech companies in the world have helped us to provide timely and accurate proposals. It is our intent to provide a management and technical proposal that does not require back and forth meetings of understanding content. We ask a lot of questions up front in trying to understand completely the scope of the work desired. Our personnel are experienced in the manufacturing and material sectors allowing them to sort through possible errors in documentation and direction. If we are fortunate to win the contract, our Contract Administrators follow through with the customer throughout the life of the contract. Whatever interface the customer requires, we stand ready to meet the need in every way.

Program Management

Another of PBE's philosophies deals with the importance of attention to detail on each of our contract programs. PBE understands that, as a program is begun, wrong parts and incomplete build information are a very real possibility. Each contract is assigned a program manager to ensure a good beginning and continued success throughout the contract. Program management coordinates with necessary PBE personnel and with customer Contract Administrators. In this manner, responsibility of the program is kept centralized.

Production Control/Planning

PBE's experienced production control planners generate detailed schedules through a master schedule tied to our MRP system. The planner is also responsible to monitor the production flow and ensure that the product reaches our customer on or before the delivery date required. The planner reports directly to the Program Manager for quicker response to the customer.

Material Planning/Control

Our streamlined organizational structure and proven simplified procedures ensure proper control and flow of materials. Whether we purchase the material or it is consigned, the master schedule skillfully blends automation with experienced personnel to achieve optimum performance. Inventory Control is provided for consigned material where shortages are anticipated and the customer alerted. A sophisticated MRP system networked to applicable personnel controls our purchased inventory and WIP. We consider material control to be real-time and we have taken the steps necessary to provide accurate data.

Manufacturing Engineering

Having qualified and experienced manufacturing engineers available allows assembly problems to be solved promptly and efficiently. Detailed manufacturing instructions and assembly aids create a smoother manufacturing flow. Ongoing programs are continuously evaluated to determine more cost efficient methods, which creates competitive bidding on present and future contracts.

Turnkey Material Purchasing

Turnkey manufacturing requires an experienced purchasing staff to procure material at reasonable cost and manage delivery to meet your schedules. Our staff has the ability to procure any material required for your assembly from board components to sheet metal fabrication.
