PBE Website gets a facelift!

The Pyott-Boone website has a new look with updated information and photos on all products. Future additions are planned including instruction manuals for registered customers and sales representatives along with an informative Technical Support Knowledgebase. The Contracts Manufacturing division will also be getting their own website in an effort to provide all customers a clear and informative visit.

The Engineering Department Has A New Face

Pyott-Boone welcomes Jose Vasquez as the new Engineering department supervisor. Jose comes to us from Los Alamos, New Mexico with several years of experience in team management and organization. Under his direction the engineering department will look to continue improving and enhancing our existing products while designing several new innovative products.

STAR Supplier Best in Class Product Award Presented by Lockheed Martin Corporation

Tazewell, Va – August 15, 2003 – At a recent award ceremony, Lockheed Martin Corporation (LM) added another STAR performer to its growing list of exemplary suppliers. LM Executives visited the plant in Tazewell to award them the Lockheed Martin Corporation STAR Supplier – Best In Class Product Award. Lockheed Martin recognizes Pyott-Boone’s management and employees as one of the top-performing suppliers to Lockheed Martin.

Lockheed Martin uses the Supplier Performance Evaluation metric across the corporation to assess suppliers’ performance in the four evaluation categories. Suppliers can achieve STAR recognition on three levels: 1) the Facility level; 2) the Perfect Product Level; and, 3) the Best-in-Class Product level.

Lockheed Martin STAR suppliers are provided visibility across Lockheed Martin Corporation. This can result in increased opportunity for more business and consideration by different Lockheed Martin facilities across the nation.

Pyott-Boone Electronics is recognized as a leader in the underground mining industry with communication and monitoring products allowing total mine-wide monitoring and control for productivity and safety. As indicated above, Pyott-Boone is also recognized as a top performer for defense and commercial customers as an extension of their manufacturing arm.

Nancye Howell, Vice President, accepted the award from Art Johnson of Lockheed Martin along with his team of five additional Lockheed officials attending the ceremony.

Recommended for ISO 9001:2000 by BSI Auditors

After a tough three days of extensive auditing of our Quality and Management system, BSI auditors recommended Pyott-Boone Electronics for certification to ISO 9001:2000.  Based on clearing up some minor findings, the recommendation would be forwarded to BSI for the final certification process.
