Model 236 Photo Switch

The Pyott Boone Model 236IA Photo switch is a general purpose, light controlled switch just like the Model 236. However, the sensors are connected through barriers to the PC board, thus allowing the sensors to be installed in hazardous locations. The control panel must be installed in fresh air.

The switch provides the ability to remotely control devices such as automatic doors, track switches, feeder-breakers, water sprays, and many others. The Photo Switch consists of a Control Unit and two Photo Sensors. Each sensor has 50 feet of 16/2 cable and a housing extension that is used to reject ambient light.

The Photo Sensors  are used to detect the presence of light rays. When light strikes either Sensor, a signal is sent to the Control Unit that energizes a relay. The relay will remain energized until light strikes either Sensor a second time or the Control Unit times out.
